    Hi Mary-anne,

    thank you for reporting this problem.

    Unfortunately "hidden" content types are supported by OnePlaceMail only for SharePoint 2010, not SharePoint 2007.

    Sorry for any inconvenience.

    Hi Werner,

    sorry for the delay and thank you very much for your question.

    Currently Target Audiences column is not supported by OnePlaceMail and we've already put this into our backlog.

    I let you know when Target Audiences will be supported.

    Hi Keat-Hau,

    thank you for your question.

    By default OnePlaceMail displays most of the different List and Library types available in SharePoint.

    To make other types of the SharePoint Libraries visible please refer to this article:

    http://www.scinaptic.com/support/0101.html

    Hope this will help.

    Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this topic or mark it as answered.

    Thank you for using OnePlaceMail!

    Hi Axel,

    have you had any error message when clicked on the library on the left side? If so, could you please provide a screenshot of this message?

    Could you please also do the following:

    1) Navigate to the C:\Users\(user_login)\AppData\Roaming\Scinaptic\OnePlaceMail

    2) Rename config.xml file

    3) Restart Outlook

    4) In Outlook go to the OnePlaceMail tab - Manage My OnePlaceMail Folders and add both Documents and Work Documents to OnePlaceMail.

    Can you reproduce the issue after that?

    Hi Ash,

    Thank you for your question.

    There are at least three options to achieve described functionality.

    1) The OnePlaceMail Plugin API could be used to provide a custom user interface allowing the user to select Client and then (filtered) Project. The logic for the filtering would be implemented in the custom plugin. The plugin would then set the value of one or more SharePoint columns (e.g. Client Code and Project Code which may then be created in SharePoint just as text columns as all the logic is done in the plugin).

    The only limitation to this approach is that you won’t get a consistent experience if you also need users to manually add files to the same libraries directly through the SharePoint user interface. Please take a look at this article as it has an example that is similar to your requirement:

    http://camerondwyer.wordpress.com/2012/07/18/a-customized-user-experience-when-saving-emailattachments-to-sharepoint

    2) You can achieve this in SharePoint 2010 using Managed Metadata, this is an option as well:

    http://colinjwood.wordpress.com/2012/07/18/cascading-dropdowns-sharepoint-2010-approach-with-managed-metadata-and-oneplacemail/

    3) Another option is using Document sets:

    Create a Library that has a folder for each Client

    Under each folder Create a document set for each Project

    Metadata can be stamped on all documents added to the document set automatically.

    Please take a look at the video on using OnePlaceMail and Documents Sets, creating them during the filing process etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WHc_iNSAtc

    In addition you could use this option in OnePlaceMail settings:

    https://d37wxxhohlp07s.cloudfront.net/s3_images/765576/18-07-2012%2010-16-40%20AM.png?1342570728

    Which will suppress "Save to SharePoint" after drag & drop and after clicking on the recent folder in drop-down menu:

    https://d37wxxhohlp07s.cloudfront.net/s3_images/765579/18-07-2012%2010-26-21%20AM.png?1342571212

    This option could also be deployed using config_update.xml file.

    Hi Shaun,

    It’s not possible to completely get rid of the "Save to SharePoint" dialog, but you can do the following using config_update.xml:

    1) Deploy single SharePoint folder to all user’s machines;

    2) Remove the “Manage My OnePlaceMail Folders” buttons from Outlook ribbon;

    3) Disable editing the site collection.

    In this case the “Save to SharePoint” window will allow the user only to select the single folder (from step 1):

    https://d37wxxhohlp07s.cloudfront.net/s3_images/765009/17-07-2012%2010-05-53%20AM.png?1342483973

    Please find config_update.xml example (for the steps 2 & 3 for Outlook 2010) below:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

    <configuration>

    <siteCollectionsPermissions action="delete" />

    <siteCollectionsPermissions action="insert" enableEdit="false" />

    <toolsForOffice>

    <Outlook>

    <ribbonCustomisations>

    <ribbonObject action="delete" tag="OPM_ManageFolders" />

    <ribbonObject action="insert" tag="OPM_ManageFolders" visible="false" />

    </ribbonCustomisations>

    </Outlook>

    </toolsForOffice>

    </configuration>

    For more details about config_update.xml please refer to the OnePlaceMail administrator guide: http://www.scinaptic.com/support/oneplacemail-administrator-guide.html

    Hi Don,

    solution was sent to your colleagues.

    To fix the issue please open SharePoint Manager, navigate to your library and change Synchronization method for the “LocationBasedMetadataDefaultsReceiver ItemAdded” event handler to “Synchronous”.

    Don/Jarrad,

    logging can be enabled on the 5.2 release of OnePlaceMail by adding the following XML directly under the Configuration tags in the config.xml (not config_update.xml). I would definitely recommend taking a backup of the config.xml file before making this change. Making changes directly to config.xml is not usually recommended as making a mistake can stop OnePlaceMail from working (although in this case, probably not an issue given the problem).

    <Logging>

    <LogLevel>4</LogLevel>

    </Logging>

    https://d37wxxhohlp07s.cloudfront.net/s3_images/743434/config.png?1338176457

    The resulting log file will be located under the users OnePlaceMail directory (e.g. C:\Users\<user_login>\AppData\Local\Scinaptic\OnePlaceMail\Logs\<date>.log

    Once you have collected the log file, remove the Logging tags from the config.xml file.

    Jarrad,

    could you please capture the logs for this issue?

    Please refer to this article for help:

    http://www.scinaptic.com/support/0062.html

    and send them to the ilia scinaptic.com

    We'll also really appreciate if you'll install the latest version of OnePlaceMail at least on the one PC and try to reproduce the issue. Despite there is no information about this particular issue in the Release Notes, it could be fixed silently.

    Hope to hear from you soon!

    Phon,

    yes, it's possible to rename the OnePlaceMail folder in Outlook. This can be easily done with config_update.xml file.

    For more information and detailed examples please refer to the "How do I configure OnePlaceMail Settings with Config_update.xml file?" article (Section "Practical examples - User Interface"):

    Sandbox Solution

    Just to be clear, it is not a requirement to install the OnePlaceMail Sandbox solution.

    The OnePlaceMail Sandbox solution includes a set of SharePoint columns (Email columns), an Email Content Type, a Library Template and a feature called ‘Email as Attachment’. These capabilities are provided in a standard SharePoint .wsp solution file you can install & activate in your SharePoint Solution gallery. However, you are not required to use the Sandbox solution. The solution is provided to expedite the process of creating the Email Columns and also to provide a library template for evaluation / as starting point for creating a required library. You can definitely use your own Email Columns if you prefer or have policies in place.

    Notes:

    1. We have modified the Email Columns (in the sandbox solution) to not show when editing an Item in SharePoint as we see the email attributes as a record of the email and you wouldn’t normally want users modifying this content

    2. If you use your own Columns you will need to setup a Column mapping table to define the mapping between email attributes and the Columns you have created- see kb article: http://www.scinaptic.com/support/0085.html

    Stage 1: Troubleshooting (Basic Library)

    To assist with troubleshooting your issue, we would like you to perform the following steps and confirm the results:

    Turn on logging ( http://www.scinaptic.com/support/0062.html )

    Create a standard SharePoint Document Library in the same SharePoint site as the library where you are having issues (Do not add any extra columns at this stage)

    Add the new document library to the left navigation of Outlook via OnePlaceMail

    Drag & drop the email (Right-click drag/drop to provide copy option) causing the error into the standard document library

    Select ‘Save’ in the Save to SharePoint Window

    Can you confirm if this was successful? If this is successful, we can focus our attention to the Columns within your other Library. If not, please send the log to to ilia(at)scinaptic(dot)com

    Stage 2: Troubleshooting (Column Mapping)

    Given you are planning to use your own SharePoint Columns, can you confirm you have configured Columns Mapping by providing the 2 screenshots below from your environment:

    Assuming you Column mapping enabled in the Settings window, can you perform the following to help us troubleshoot the issue:

    Turn on logging ( http://www.scinaptic.com/support/0062.html )

    Open the OnePlaceMail Settings Window

    Uncheck/turn off the ‘Specify custom column mapping list’

    Close & restart Outlook

    Drag & drop the email (Right-click drag/drop to provide copy option) causing the error into the original document library where you have been having the error appear

    Select ‘Save’ in the Save to SharePoint Window

    Can you confirm if this was successful? If not, please send the log to to ilia(at)scinaptic(dot)com

    Please provide the following 2 screenshots form your environment:

    Settings:

    https://d37wxxhohlp07s.cloudfront.net/s3_images/740977/22-05-2012%203-53-35%20PM.png?1337666106

    Hi Yoshi,

    based on your screenshot I can see you're not usign the SharePoint columns provided in the OnePlaceMail Sandbox Solution. Unless you have a reason for wanting to use your own columns I'd recommend to install the OnePlaceMail Sandbox solution and use columns provided with it.

    Refer to http://www.scinaptic.com/support/0052.html for instructions on installing this solution.

    After installation follow "Getting Started with the OnePlaceMail SharePoint Sandbox Solution" article http://www.scinaptic.com/support/0079.html in order to properly add Email Columns to the existing library.

    Could you please check solutions 2 and 3 from our "The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized" error when performing various operations in OnePlaceMail" Knowledgebase article:

    http://www.scinaptic.com/support/0016.html

    If that doesn't help, please try the following:

    1) In Outlook navigate to OnePlaceMail tab - click OnePlaceMail Settings - Credential tab. Check that "Use Default Credentials" checkbox is marked.

    2) Save email message you've mentioned (with 40 recipients) as msg file (In Outlook menu "File" - "Save as") to your computer.

    3) Open SharePoint Library in Internet Explorer. Verify your credentials in the upper right corner of the library

    4) Upload msg file to the library from step 2. Are you able to reproduce the issue? If so, please upload a screenshot of the issue (including the SharePoint library if possible).

    5) Create a txt file in Notepad, put some text in it and upload this file to the same library. Are there any issues after this step?

    I've tried to upload a message with 100 recipients and it was fine for me:

    https://d37wxxhohlp07s.cloudfront.net/s3_images/739225/a_lot_or_rec.png?1337237759

    If the above does not help, please do the following:

    1) Turn on logging ( http://www.scinaptic.com/support/0062.html )

    2) Reproduce the issue

    3) Send log file to ilia(at)scinaptic(dot)com
