Make an option to add selected file as new version (with new name / new file extension)
Make an option to add selected file as new version (with new name / new file extension)
Example:
I work on word files - letter projects
when a letter is send, I want to replace a word file with a pdf file
Sharepoint allows it with a workaround - first change a name to pdf file name and then replace with new file

I found a way to copy metadata, but replacing option is missing when I select a file with different extension (docx -> pdf)

I've tried it this way but it creates a new file without metadata.
Is it possible to replace docx file with pdf as a new version?
Is it possible to keep track of metadata (retyping can work when You have a few additional columns but over 5 or 10 it's impossible not to make a mistake)? -
Hi
Thank you for adding this item. In OnePlaceDocs, you are able to create or open a word document and select "Save As" which allows you to then specify the file type as a PDF format.
When this is selected, the word document will be converted to a PDF and you are then able to save this to SharePoint.
