Hi Don,
solution was sent to your colleagues.
To fix the issue please open SharePoint Manager, navigate to your library and change Synchronization method for the “LocationBasedMetadataDefaultsReceiver ItemAdded” event handler to “Synchronous”.

Thanks again Illia.
Managed to get logging turned on. We have now sent our logs to Scinaptic support.

Don/Jarrad,
logging can be enabled on the 5.2 release of OnePlaceMail by adding the following XML directly under the Configuration tags in the config.xml (not config_update.xml). I would definitely recommend taking a backup of the config.xml file before making this change. Making changes directly to config.xml is not usually recommended as making a mistake can stop OnePlaceMail from working (although in this case, probably not an issue given the problem).
<Logging>
<LogLevel>4</LogLevel>
</Logging>

The resulting log file will be located under the users OnePlaceMail directory (e.g. C:\Users\<user_login>\AppData\Local\Scinaptic\OnePlaceMail\Logs\<date>.log
Once you have collected the log file, remove the Logging tags from the config.xml file.

IIia,
It appears we haven't got an enable logging option showing up that we can turn on. Our desktop support has had a look at the registry list but couldn't find one that can enable it.
What do we need to do to turn on the option?
Any assitance will be much appreciated. :)

Jarrad,
could you please capture the logs for this issue?
Please refer to this article for help:
http://www.scinaptic.com/support/0062.html
and send them to the ilia scinaptic.com
We'll also really appreciate if you'll install the latest version of OnePlaceMail at least on the one PC and try to reproduce the issue. Despite there is no information about this particular issue in the Release Notes, it could be fixed silently.
Hope to hear from you soon!

We are able to reproduce this on another site collection. Steps are just to upload a document via send to and it seems to happen randomly, notably it also leaves the document checked out.

I have read all the release notes and can't see any fixes specifically for this type of issue. This is in SP2010. We can reproduce it for the one DL at the moment seems to occur randomly but fairly requently.
We have only been able to recreate this issue so far in a particular doc library so I will get it recreated and retry and or try and reproduce it elsewhere to see if it comes down to just that one.

Hi Jarrad,
A few questions:
- Are you running SharePoint 2007 or SharePoint 2010?
- Is this happening for all users when saving to the location?
- Can you save to any other location successfully?
- Can you save to other locations without issues?
- Is this occurring consistently? / can provide steps to repeat the issue?
Are you in a position to consider upgrading to Release 6.1?
