Using a list/library view to drive the list of folders or content
We have used a SharePoint view (Content View) to set the default view in OnePlaceMail for users. This currently affects both content and the list of folders (document sets).
In the v6.5 Admin Guide (p49) it seems to indicate that there can also be an alternate default view set up for folders (as opposed to Content).
Can you advise what the name of this view needs to be (ie: Folder View?)
Will this work to display only certain Document Sets we have in a library?
Our set-up is:
2 main libraries, containing documents sets. Each document set contains all information saved/created relating to a particular case.
A specific user is assigned to each case (document set), and will have multiple cases to manage.
Admin staff are shared between users.
Our scenario is that we want the filter to limit the list of document sets displayed inside a specific folder in the navigation tree for each user, but when that user goes to insert an attachment into an email we want this view to show all content in that document set. (At the moment the content inside the document set is filtered in the same way the documents sets are.)
We are trying to limit the number of documents sets displayed to any given user due to volume of documents sets and a subsequent negative impact on performance when all folders try to load.

Hi Robert,
Are you able to confirm the view name?
If a specific view names was set, is this xml still included int the config.xml file in the user profile?
Kind regards
Elissa

Hi Elissa,
After upgrading OnePlaceMail for version 6.4 to 6.6, this feature seems to have gone. Users can now see all doc sets under a list in the navigation tree... regardless of the view.
Thanks.

Hi Nadine
Thanks for your inquiry. As you have suggested you can drive the content view and also drive the folder view.
The name of the view can be anything that is relevant to your environment. This then needs to be applied in config_update.xml as per Example 2 on page 49, of the Administration Guide.
To drive the folder content view - you can create a filter on particular folders, and set the parameter "navigationTreeFolder" to display the folder with this filter.
The following KB may be of assistance in filtering the document sets presented to users: http://www.scinaptic.com/support/0118.html
Please feel free to get in contact should you have further queries
Kind regards
Elissa
