OnePlaceMail - Red cross when saving from Outlook 2013 to SharePoint 2010
Hello people, First post / question as I am supporting this product in out Department.
We have some collaboration sites working and others not so good where the client saves to or moves to SharePoint via OnePlaceMail from Outlook.. The file saves partially but a Save to SharePoint error appears with - You must fill out all required properties before checking in this document.0x82000009
The details are Document ID: Failed to render "Document ID" column because of an error in the "Hyperlink or Picture" field type control. See details in log. Exception message: Invalid URL: " http://www.example.com "..
I am not sure how common this is, note: I did not set up this site and those who did have fled the country. anyhow, we are using SharePoint 2010 and OnePlaceMail version 6.5. Charles. https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/s3_images/1192782/RedX.gif?1429764271

We're gonna test v7.
For information, we've made additional tests and with a large number of properties/metadata (30+) or properties with a large number of items, we have the same issue : that can explain why we have the problem with the lastest Office version that must be more rich in terms of properties and not with older version (xls, doc). Do you have similar problems when you try to upload mails with a lot of properties from Outlook 2013 with OPM ?

Hi Vincent,
As Charles has suggested, you can test this against R7.0. This can be downloaded from our website at http://www.oneplacesolutions.com , then selecting "downloads"
.Please let me know how you go, and if required we can set up a screen share.
Kind regards

You can always upgrade one PC to version 7 to see if this resolves the issue. For us it didn't matter what file or format, it was a red cross for everything but only on some sites thus it was a site issue. In your instance it looks like a versioning issue if you are saying that you don't have issues with modern documents within a 2013 site.
We run a SharePoint 2010 server with 6.6.1 now and everything kind of file now saves perfectly after upgrading from 6.5.
If you do go down the path of version 7, remember that the OnePlaceMail document solution is separated and you need to purchase licences for OnePlaceDoc separately.
I am only a user of OnePlaceMail so this would be a question for Elissa etc. You may need to raise a separate question on this site to get a response though.
Charles.

I've a similar issue with the version 6.6.1 but the explanation seems to be relative to the format of the file... With a docx file (xlsx, docx) the "red cross" appears, with older office versions (xls, doc), no problem to put the document to a Sharepoint 2013 site. One of the 2 mandatory properties is a managed metadata !
What do we have to do to resolve the problem, upgrade to 7.0 ?

Thank you for your assistance Elissa. Have found that upgrading from 6.5 to 6.6 also rectified the problem.

Hi Charles
Apologies, I missed your initial inquiry.
Can you please enable logging in OnePlaceMail Settings, Outlook, Enable Application Logging (Support). Please close/reopen outlook and carry out the steps to generate this error message.
Can you please send this log file to support@oneplacesolutions,com where I will review the logfile.
Kind regards
Elissa

Can I also add that working sites will display the Content Type on the right side of the OnePlaceMail saving interface but faulty attempts to save that generate the red cross, no Content Type is displayed.
