Not getting Installed because of error " Not valid Short File Name"
" xxxx.xxxx is not a valid short file name "
Can anyone please guide me through this issue. Im trying to install the setup.exe / FileToWSSOutlookAddInSetup-x86 . when I try to run I'm getting a Pop up with this error " xxxx.xxxx is not a valid short file name ".
Is the error because of the name as my name looks like " mailto:asdf.ghjk@contoso.com ".
Can you please guide me through this as it is very important for my business.
Thank you.

Hi Elissa,
Thank you for coming back, Im very sorry that I was busy in some other work.
I have done as you were saying of runnig the file as " Run as Administrator."
but it is still the same I dont know why is it creating this error. We wanted to purchase the software after we we have done enough evaluation.
We work in London and GMT hours.
It would be really grateful If you Could please help us by connecting through a remote session and solve the issue.
What would be the Ideal timings, and when would be the Ideal date. If you could confirm this I would make my arrangements accordingly.

Hi
Thank you for providing this further information.
The software should install regardless of the user profile name. I have tested and confirmed this on a Windows 8 / Office 2013 test computer.
Could you please try to install the software as admin (right click, Run as Administrator) and advise the outcome.
I am more than happy to also set up a screen sharing session with you to assist in further troubleshooting this issue.
If you would like to do so, please email me at mailto:support@scinaptic.com
Kind regards

Hi Elissa,
Thanks for comng back,
I have done as you have said. I have repired the Office and then tried to install.
Its the same again.
The Office is 2013 version with 32 bit. and the Windows 8 64 bit.
doesn't it take dot in between names as the user here has got james.shaw " dot in between names.
Please suggest us a solution as we need to try and wanted to have an eterprise version when we first able to evaluate this.
when I have tried with my name that is just " jairam " it has installed perfectly.
Looking forward for your reply.

Hi Jairam
Thank you for your inquiry.
Could you please run a repair on Office prior to installing OnePlaceMail, please then try to reinstall the software.
Could you also please provide details regarding your environment - version of Windows/Office currently installed.
Kind regards
Elissa
