Can you attach additional emails to an already created List item, through Outlook/OnePlaceMail?
We have items/issues in our Sharepoint lists with attached emails. Is is possible to attach additional emails (more recent correspondence) to the same item/issue, through Outlook/OnePlaceMail? Rather than the roundabout way of saving the .msg on the desktop.
Cheers

Hi Simon
Thank you for your inquiry.
This won't be included in R7.0, however I will add your comments to this request and will update this topic.
Kind regards

Is this enhancement something we can expect to see in v7.0?
It would certainly be very useful.

Hi Angharad,
I can see your need for adding emails to existing list items. I have added this to our product backlog for consideration in a future release.

Hi Colin,
Thank you for your prompt reply.
The first option is probably not a solution from our clients perspective, it's a little cumbersome, as some of our users aren't very familiar with how Sharepoint works.
I'm exploring the second option.
...further information as to why this Enhancement would be useful from our point of view:
We allow clients to view (List) items they've raised regarding their systems/platforms, in order for them to monitor progress, update, review or close issues. Occasionally an issue might be closed but then re-opened when a bug re-appears, this period may span a few months. We'd like to be able to keep the original attached email but add an additional, more recent correspondence that may not have the original message within it.
Thanks,
Angharad

Hi Angharad,
Currently this is not possible but this is a great enhancement idea which we will consider in a future release.
One possible workaround is to use a document library to file emails to and have a lookup column in this library that looks up up the issues list so you can relate emails to a particular issue.
This allows you to have multiple emails related to a particular issue (list item).
Another approach is to use Document Sets - so create a new document set per issue and file emails to that document set using OneplaceMail.
Hopefully the options above give you some alternative architectures that will help solve your problem.
Thanks
Colin
