    Hi Cade,

it's only necessary to map email related columns (e.g. To, From, Subject, etc.) in the Custom Column Mapping List.

All other Document Library columns (like Project numbers, Dates and anything else) are displayed without any additional setup.

If the internal name of the lookup column is not used in the Custom Column mapping list, it should be displayed in the "Save to SharePoint" OPM dialog.

Hope this clarifies. If issue still persists please email me (ilia (аt) scinaptic.com) your details (your location and convenient time) and I'll be happy to arrange a call and a screen-sharing session to help you with this issue.

    Thank you.

    Hi Cade,

thank you for your question. Standard lookup columns are displayed in the "Save to SharePoint" dialog by default.

Could you please check the following and update this topic with the results?

    1) Is this a standard Lookup column?

    https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/s3_images/911893/13-06-12-lookup.png?1370998535

    2) Can you see it in the "Edit properties" dialog in IE?

    https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/s3_images/911894/13-06-12-lookup2.png?1370998669

    3) What's the column internal name (open column properties and check the URL)?

    https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/s3_images/911895/13-06-12-lookup3.png?1370998766

    4) Is this name used in your Custom Column Mapping List?

Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you.

    Hi Daniel,

    thank you for your question.

The generic set of the folders could be created using a config_update.xml file.

Please refer to the following article How do I configure OnePlaceMail Settings with the Config_update.xml file?

and updated Administrator Guide for the details and examples.

After config_update.xml has been created please follow the OnePlaceMail Enterprise Deployment Using Group Policy guide to deploy these settings among required set of users.

Hope this clarifies. Please update this topic if you have any questions or require any assistance on creating config_update.xml / Group Policy Object. Thank you.

    Hi Ian,

you could also do the following to perform batch check-in:

    1. Open the SharePoint Library, click on the "Library" tab and "Open with Explorer" button:

    https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/s3_images/909910/13-06-04_library.png?1370578724

    2. Select files in a folder, perform a right-click Send to - SharePoint

    3. Select the same library/folder

    4. Check "Overwrite existing files".

Repeat this for every folder in the library.

Hope this will help. Thank you.

    Hi Ian,

    thank you for the clarification.

Unfortunately OnePlaceMail doesn't have this option.

    Sorry for any inconvenience.

    Hi Ian,

    thank you for your question.

OnePlaceMail can do bulk check-ins. Once you've selected several files, clicked Send to - SharePoint, the "Save to SharePoint" OPM window will appear allowing user to provide metadata values for this group of files.

All files will be uploaded (and checked-in) with the same values selected in OPM Save to SharePoint window.

Hope this clarifies. Please update this topic if you have any questions. Thank you.

    Hi Ian,

    thank you for your question.

OPM doesn't have any limitations on number of files/emails but it depends on your system parameters (e.g. CPU, RAM, network speed and reliability).

We recommend to upload files in groups of 100-200-300 and higher.

Hope this clarifies. Please update this topic if you have any questions. Thank you.

    Hi all,

I'm glad to let you know the next release of OnePlaceMail (6.4.1) is now available and contains the enhancement allowing a user to utilize reach functionality of SharePoint views in the Insert and Open from SharePoint windows.

Please follow this article for more details:

Support for SharePoint views in OnePlaceMail Enterprise Edition

    Thank you.

    Christopher,

thank you for the idea, it's is very important for us to get the feedback from OnePlaceMail users.

Please kindly take into consideration that the speed of loading in most cases depends on a connection quality between the machine with Outlook and the SharePoint server rather than a page content.

For instance if it's local SharePoint server and network latency is very low, any SharePoint view will be opened less than a second. But if it's a remote SharePoint server (like cloud-based Office 365) and network latency is considerably higher, any SharePoint view will be opened within several seconds.

AllMinimal view is designed to be as small as possible. Currently entire page with images, links and required background SharePoint data is not more than 500-600 KB which is very small size for a present-day local networks.

Summing up, we take this idea into consideration and put it on our development backlog.

    Hi Gregor,

    thank you for your question.

I assume you are talking about Choice column:

    https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/s3_images/905810/13-05-29_choice.png?1369788772

If that is the case, we'd recommend you to move choice values to a separate SharePoint list and create a lookup column instead of choice column.

This will provide you following benefits:

    1) Easier management of values;

    2) Values are not cut in OnePlaceMail dialog;

    3) Type-ahead search you've requested for works fine.

Hope this will help. Please update this topic if you have any questions. Thank you.

    Hi Ian,

    thank you for your question.

This is client-only setting and it can only be changed my means of config_update.xml file.

Once file has been created, you may deploy it using Group Policy. Please refer to the following guide for the details:

OnePlaceMail Enterprise Deployment Using Group Policy.

Please update this topic if you have any questions or any assistance is required with creating config_update.xml, I'll be happy to provide you an example.

    Thank you.

    Hi David,

    thank you for your question.

It's possible to connect OnePlaceMail with SharePoint 2003 (WSS v3). To do this, it's necessary to install OnePlaceMail Server Components on all SharePoint front-end web servers.

Please refer to the following article for the details:

Do I need to install anything on the SharePoint Server?

OnePlaceMail Server Components are part of Enterprise Edition of OnePlaceMail. Please start free Enterprise trial to evaluate the product in your environment.

Hope this clarifies. Update this topic if you have any questions or contact me directly by email: ilia (аt) scinaptic.com

    Thank you.

Currently the only option is to re-import .msg files from Outlook into SharePoint to capture emails' metadata.

    Sorry for any inconvenience.

    Hi Pål,

    thank you for your question.

Currently, copying folders is not supported by OnePlaceMail. You could open the folder, select all files and copy them to SharePoint using the same Send to - SharePoint menu.

Hope this will help. Sorry for any inconvenience.

    Hi Steven,

thank you for your positive feedback about the product.

To OCR a file you need a separate OCR software (e.g. ABBYY FineReader) as neither Outlook nor SharePoint doesn't have the OCR possibilities.

After PDF file has been recognized and converted to the MS Word/Excel format it could be uploaded by means of OnePlaceMail either from inside these applications:

    https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/s3_images/898197/13-05-10_PTO.png?1368144096

or from any folder using Windows Explorer context menu:

    https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/s3_images/898198/13-05-10_WE.png?1368144151

    Hi Ian,

    thank you for your question.

To create a shortcut to a list/library/folder, in Outlook open OnePlaceMail tab - click Manage My OnePlaceMail Folders and add required location from left to right:

    https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/s3_images/897683/13-05-09_OPM_Favs.png?1368061057

Then users will see these shortcuts on the left hand side of Outlook under "- My OnePlaceMail -":

    Hi Ian,

    there are two available approaches:

    1) Create columns with em* and then rename them to something different (as OnePlaceMail works with the internal (original) name of the column). E.g. create a field with name EmSubject, save it and then rename to "Email Topic".

    2) Create columns with required names and use Column Mapping list to link original column names (em*) with newly created ones.

Please refer to the section "5.1 Custom Mapping of Email Attributes to Columns" in the Admin Guide for the details.

Hope this will help. Please update this topic if you have any questions or any assistance required. Thank you.

    Ian,

you could use the "Email Date" field with the following filter:

    https://d2r1vs3d9006ap.cloudfront.net/s3_images/897244/8-05-13%202-59-19%20PM.png?1367989179

As any email has a value in this field and this field is hidden (thus, empty) for other documents this method will allow you to filter only emails.

    Hope this will help.

    Thank you Ian,

it's my pleasure to help you.

Emails are uploaded as .msg files with corresponding icon (opened envelope). As you can filter by icon, this should work fine for you.

Please let me know if you have any further questions, I'll be happy to assist. Thank you.

    Ian,

    Thanks for your clarifying question.

To answer it, yes, these columns could be added as hidden.

Please refer to the Administrator Guide, page 96 for the details.

    Hope this clarifies. Thank you.

    Hi Ian,

    thank you for your question.

It's necessary to create specific email columns to capture email attributes. These columns could be added to the existing content types and deployed with them.

For the details regarding column types and creation please follow these articles:

What is the OnePlaceMail Sandbox Solution? Section "The OnePlaceMail Email Columns".

    and

How do I get the features of the OnePlaceMail Sandbox Solution without deploying the solution?

    Hi Craig,

thank you for providing required information.

    This is OnePlaceMail issue.

As you have the same URL for the site collection and sub-site of this site collection (e.g. http://contoso/contoso/ ) OnePlaceMail corrupts the URL.

As a quick workaround you could change the URL for the sub-site (e.g. http://contoso/contoso2 ) to make it work.

Regardless of this, I'm glad to let you know this issue has already been addressed and fix will be available in the next OnePlaceMail release (6.4).

Hope this will help. Please update this topic or email me directly if you have any questions. Thank you.

    HI Sven,

as found out during screen-sharing session, the issue is in the site URL. If site URL contains brackets OnePlaceMail uses duplicate URL thus corrupting original one.

I'll update this topic when fix will be available.

    Thank you for your patience.
