    Hi Justin,

    Thank you for your feedback.

    Let me shed some light on this functionality.

    Despite these screens look similar they are used for completely different fuctions.

    Due to technical limitations it's not currently possible to simply remove "Saving files" screens and change upload process to work in the background.

    Regardless of this, this feature (Background upload) is already in our backlog. I'll be able to provide more information regarding the implementation dates in the middle of next week.

    Hope this will clarify the situation. Please update this topic if you have any questions. Thank you.

    Hi Justin,

    thank you for the clarification.

    To answer your question, first screen was removed in 6.3, second and third will be removed (or "minimize" button will be implemented) in one of the next releases of OnePlaceMail.

    Currently we don't have any particular dates regarding these features implementation.

    Hope this will help. Please update this topic if you have any questions regarding this functionality. Thank you.

    Hi Justin,

    thank you for your question.

    Could you please confirm that "Retreiving information..." dialog is displayed, not "Saving file(s) to SharePoint"?

    https://d37wxxhohlp07s.cloudfront.net/s3_images/817149/1.png?1352698650

    Is this dialog displayed before "Save to SharePoint" window is opened or after "Save" button is pressed?

    Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you.

    Hi Netpicker!

    Thank you very much for your idea!

    I'm happy to let you know this feature is already included in our backlog and will be available in 6.3 release of OnePlaceMail which will be available in the middle of September.

    This can now be achieved by using the OnePlaceLive Configuration service tool.

    Set this item to true, and publish to your users. When users save to a document library, with the email body column added – this will be captured.

    Hi Drew,

    thank you for your questions.

    Capturing email body should be turned on separately.

    Please put the following code into config_update.xml:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

    <configuration>

    <outlook>

    <captureEmailBodyForEmail action="insert" value="true"/>

    </outlook>

    </configuration>

    place config_update.xml to the %AppData%\Scinaptic\OnePlaceMail folder and restart Outlook.

    For more details please refer to the Section 3.2.15 Capture the Email Body as Column Meta-Data - Emails in the http://www.scinaptic.com/support/oneplacemail-administrator-guide.html .

    Hope this will help. Please update this topic if you have any questions. Thank you.

    Hi Craig,

    thank you for your question.

    According to your description, I think that you have client-only installation of OnePlaceMail (OnePlaceMail Server Components are not installed on SharePoint Server).

    Could you please verify that all users have at least Contribute Level Access to the License List? (Note: URL to this list is stored in the OnePlaceMail Settings on the "Licensing" tab)

    Please refer to http://www.scinaptic.com/support/0077.html for more details regarding License List.

    Hope this will help. Please let me know about the results by updating this topic. Thank you.

    Hi mclacy,

    Thank you for your question.

    Currently recipients do not get any visual indicator to show that sender has saved email to SharePoint.

    Regardless of this, if they would try to save received email to the same library they will get an error showing this message was already saved, as OnePlaceMail implements specific filename format to save emails to SharePoint.

    Please refer to the Section 3.2.13 Customising the Email Filename Format in the Administrator Guide for more details.

    Hope this will help. Please update this topic if you have any questions, I’ll gladly assist.

    Hi!

    Thank you very much for your question.

    Currently OnePlaceMail does not support delayed upload to SharePoint.

    To simplify and partially automate the process remote users could potentially do the following:

    Create new folder under the “Inbox” folder. E.g. “Delayed upload”.

    Put all emails which should be uploaded to SharePoint into this folder.

    When a connection to SharePoint is available, upload all emails at once.

    Regardless of this, this feature (Delayed upload to SharePoint) would be a nice enhancement to the product, I’ve added your idea to our backlog for further analysis and discussion.

    Thanks for the feedback!

    Hi Marisa,

    thank you for your question!

    OnePlaceMail uses email time in GMT zone to allow chronological sort of emails by subject if these emails were uploaded to a library from the offices located in the different time zones.

    Regarding your previous question, you could use OnePlaceMail API to develop your own format.

    Hope this will help. Please let me know if you have any quesitons, I'll gladly assist!

    Hi Eduardo,

    I provided only Email Library Template, not Sandbox Solution.

    According to the instructions posted:

    1) Go to Site Actions – Site Settings

    2) Go to “List Templates” under the “Galleries” section

    3) Upload the template

    4) Try to create new OnePlaceMail Email Library in Site Actions – More Options...

    It's necessary to upload this file not to the Solutions, but to the List Templates:

    https://d37wxxhohlp07s.cloudfront.net/s3_images/802932/121011_SS.png?1349925994

    https://d37wxxhohlp07s.cloudfront.net/s3_images/802933/121011_SS2.png?1349926009

    It's not necessary to activate list template as it'll be available immideately after upload.

    Hope this will help. Please feel free to update this topic if you require any assistance.

    Hi Russ,

    Thank you for the details provided.

    Could you please do the following:

    1) Create new document library;

    2) Add new column with DateTime type and "Date & Time" format for the values;

    3) Upload any document (Word, Excel, txt) to this library using standard IE interface;

    4) Put some value to the column from step # 2;

    5) Create new Managed property, map it to the column from step # 2;

    6) Reset Index under "Central Administration - Search Service Application: Search Administration";

    7) Start all crawls, wait until it finished and execute the search against the library from step # 1.

    Could you please provide XML results in this case?

    Hi,

    Sorry for the delay, we had public holiday yesterday.

    Yes, OnePlaceMail Sandbox Solution which contains OPM Library template, OPM Content type and some other features is only available in the Enterprise Edition of OnePlaceMail.

    Please feel free to start free 30-days trial.

    You may also manually create a new column in existing library with name “EmBody” (Multiply line of text, unlimited length) to capture email body to this column.

    Hope this will help. Please let me know about the results.

    Hi Andrew,

    thank you for your question.

    There is no size limit for files you upload using OnePlaceMail but it's necessary to edit web.config of your web application to increase the maximumRequestLength and executionTimeout:

    https://d37wxxhohlp07s.cloudfront.net/s3_images/794342/1.png?1348188888

    After that please perform an IISreset.

    Hi Jeff,

    Thank you for your question.

    Please find the answer below:

    Our decision to not show the entire SharePoint Site/Library/Folder structure on the left navigation of Outlook is based on the following:

    1. Performance impact on Outlook e.g. if a library (or one or more libraries combined) has 2000 folders we would need to add them to Outlook and the performance impact on Outlook would be considerable. Therefore, slowing Microsoft Outlook start-up and the overall user experience/performance in Outlook. The interaction required to maintain the SharePoint Structure, security level permissions and configuration options in SharePoint for the different locations defined via folders in Microsoft Exchange/Cached Mode Outlook is not desirable.

    2. Useability – trying to drag and drop to an extensive folder hierarchy in Outlook is hard and almost unusable if it is contains a deep nested folder structure.

    3. User Adoption/Noise – In many instances a user is only interested in a small subset of the overall locations (Libraries, lists, folders, document sets) available within a SharePoint environment. Presenting the full SharePoint hierarchy in a user’s personal information management environment (Outlook) will detract from the users experience when interacting with SharePoint.

    Our approach – Favourite and Recent locations

    Rather than present the full SharePoint hierarch on the left navigation, we are allowing the user to create a category structure on the left navigation of Outlook (it is not the intention for a business/user to recreate a SharePoint structure) if required and set 1 or more favourite SharePoint locations under this structure. These favourite locations can be either a SharePoint Site or one of the final destinations: Library, List, Folder or Document Set. In some cases it makes sense to add a whole Site or Library to the left navigation of Outlook and when you drag/drop content to this location, the ‘Save to SharePoint’ will display any lower level SharePoint structures (e.g. folders within a library). The display of the folder structure is all performance tuned to only bring back the relevant part of the folder structure in an asynchronous manner when the user requests to expand this the folders.

    Recent Locations: OnePlaceMail also provides Recent Locations on the left navigation of Outlook and on the Copy To/Move To button in Outlook. Therefore, providing an easy mechanism to both save content and access content from a location in SharePoint. Recent locations can be made as favourite locations if desired.

    Hope this will help.
