1. Can I customize the E-mail filename format?

   Hi,

   First, I'd like to say that the OnePlaceMail software is something which In my mind was so much missing on the market to make the SharePoint at least the option to consider when selecting document management platform. Until now, everything what I've immagined that the tool can do was at the right place, easy to set up and easy to work with. However I've came across some difficulties with setting up a proper filename when uploading an item to the SharePoint.

   I'm trying to customize the e-mail filename format in a way that it would add a creation date string at the beginning of the filename in the format "YYYYMMDD"

   I have found this in the administration user guide:

   However, according to the guide the format can be set up to one of the three options (where the last one is closest to what I'd like to achieve - example "2008-10-2421-01-23Jim Smith_Weekly Project Update")

   As you can see, the problem is that the date/time format is in this case "YYYY-MM-DD"

   I have even tried the illegal character stripping from filenames also mentioned in the guide. I'm not able to get it work (config section provided):

   <![CDATA[[-]]]>

   And even if this is working it would probably not solve my issue as this feature inserts "_" instead of specified characters. The problem is, that until now everyone in my team has been using filename format starting with the "YYYYMMDD" followed by other characters. They have been able to sort out items chronologically in the windows explorer. When they upload the files on the SharePoint, and start to upload the e-mails with different file format, they will lose the option to sort everything chronologically (by filename). An option is to manually delete the dash each time (what they are basically doing now - they need to assign proper filename to each e-mail stored), however if this can be automatized that would be much more user friendly.

   Is there any way how can I configure the OPM to perform the filename edit in a way I've explained?

2. How to delete archived emails?

   Hi all,

   In Outlook view, how can I delete emails that have been archived? I know I can delete emails in the Sharepoint view but this is not handy as it's a different view/ interface.

3. Attempting to expand library throws: Object reference not set to an instance of an object error and not all folders are displayed

   I have one particular library with 30 folders below root level. When expanding this library, an error is thrown: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. and not all folders are displayed. On some computers, people can see maybe 10 folders, on others it can be as little as one. Here is the error in full:

4. OnePlaceMail Grouped by Date view

   We have a document library used to file meeting papers which are tagged by meeting name and date of meeting. The information type for the date of meeting column is 'Date and Time' with the format of the field set to 'Date Only'. The default view for the library groups the files by meeting name and then by date of meeting.

   When files are uploaded to this library using OnePlaceMail, they are not only tagged by the specified date but also by the time that the file was uploaded. This is problematic as it affects the default grouped view. Files are grouped separately based on the time when they should be grouped together by virtue of the fact they share the same date of meeting.

   This is not an issue when viewing the files in the web version of SharePoint as there is no time field the files are grouped correctly.

   Do you know why this occurs and whether there is anything that can be done to remedy this? Ideally the date column in OnePlaceMail should display the date only and not the time (or the time should read 00:00:00 so that it does not affect the grouping).

   Currently we have to re-tag the files in the web version by date which defeats the purpose of using OnePlaceMail to upload them.

7. Automatic storage of emails to Sharepoint 2013

   Hi everybody !

   How do I make my personal emails (personal outlook) saved/stored directly (without any human effort ) to Sharepoint ? Hence, everytime I recieve an email, I want this email to be saved and stored to SP without having to Drag and Drop it or use a Send to SP button.

8. Send to SP from Explorer still on the context menu ?

   IN OPM Lite 7 (not trial):

   Can someone please confirm if Send to > SharePoint is still an option on the context (right click) menu in Windows Explorer as it was in the old OP6 Express.

10. There was a problem refreshing Recent Locations

    Error: Cannot create the folder.

    Application: Microsoft Outlook

    One of our users gets this message 4 times after uploading an email to sharepoint.

    OPM version = 7

    Sharepoint version = 2013.

11. Documents sent by Oneplacemail are read-only

    When someone sends me a link using Oneplacemail, the document opens as 'Read-only' with no option to edit. Obviously there is no point in using Oneplacemail if I can't edit documents. Is it possible to change my settings so that I can edit? My colleagues have the same issue.

12. The selected location is currently unavailable

    I have the same issue discussed in two other threads by this name:

    The message is displayed as soon as the OnePlace Mail window opens after we opt to move or copy an email to SharePoint- no fodlers or libraries are clicked before the message appears. The message is the same for all sites and libraries. Upload to all of these locations worked when we were using the trial version.

    Per advice on the referenced threads I have attempted to rename the config.xml file, but the only files in the specified location are manifest, settingsupdatesconfig and config_pre7.

    Our SharePoint 2013 installation is vanilla, with no non-standard modifications.

13. Default outlooking searching of OnePlaceMail - how does it work?

    I am starting to use the OnePlaceMail Express edition 6.3 on outlook 2010.

    My question is around using the default outlook search (Not the oneplacemail search)

    I can see it returns most results for old mail, but is there a time delay for newly stored email. I checked to see if searching for a recently stored email returned in a search result and it did not, even though I can see the mail if I browse to it in the OnePlaceMail folders.

    So how does the indexing work, is it sharepoint or my outlook client that is performing the indexing?

15. Can drop down menu for metadata act the same as in Sharepoint?

    We have a drop down selector that we use to add metadata after we add the email to Sharepoint. If i press the first letter of that drop down menu the first option with that data comes up. Pressing another letter jumps to another data. Is there a way to prevent this so i could type the first 3 or four letters and get the correct data?

    e.g. my metadata drop down menu has entries:

    gregor

    gregormegor

    gregorbogor

    robeto

    if i type "g" selection gregor will pop up, if i type "gr" then last selection roberto will popup instead of second gregor. if i upload file manually to share point then this drop down data selector would do as expected and upon typing "gregorm" it would jump to gregormegor.

16. Can the Outlook prompts be set to an enterprise default - to be off for all users by default.

    Can our organisation set the Outlook prompts in OnePlaceMail setting to be off by default for all users. Can this be done via Group Policy.

17. Filename formatting

    With 6.5 is there more options for configuring the filename. Eg Would would like to change the date format to yymmdd_time.

    Also is there a way to default the view when attaching an email using your tool. Eg defaulting the view to all documents not explorer view.

19. Character String added to Outlook 2010 email name following upload to SharePoint 2010

    Hi, When sending an email from Outlook 2010 to SharePoint via OnePlaceMail, a string of characters along these lines _1r6 1hvrb are added to the end of the email name. Is it possible to remove this somehow? Thanks
